Come to Denver! Meet old friends and make new ones! We are excited to host the 34th SAGEEP next March at the Hilton Denver City Center. The meeting will feature a rich technical program, vibrant social events, professional networking opportunities, and a commercial exhibition showcasing the latest in geophysical products and services. The event brings together researchers, industry professional, and students to share and discuss recent advancement, challenges, and applications of geophysics for engineering and environmental problems.
This year, the technical program will incorporate special sessions planned in synergy with other organizations. The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will collaborate on sessions exploring challenges for dams and levees and the use of geophysics for construction planning and life-cycle monitoring. A focus on geophysical characterization for municipal groundwater supply will be pursued with the Colorado Groundwater Association (CGWA) and local affiliates. These and other special focus topics will add to broad scope of presentations spanning geohazards, hydrogeology, infrastructure, sensor development, and much more.

THE SAGEEP MEETING:
SAGEEP is an internationally recognized leading conference on the practical application of shallow geophysics to the challenges faced in engineering and environmental projects.
Since 1988, the symposium has been held over a 5-day period at locations throughout the United States, with approximately 200 oral and poster presentations, several educational short courses and workshops, numerous vendor presentations, and a commercial exhibition. SAGEEP provides geophysicists, engineers, geoscientists, and end-users from around the world an opportunity to meet and discuss near-surface applications of geophysics and learn about recent developments in near-surface geophysics.
THE LOCATION:
Denver, the Mile High City, with its 300 days of sunshine, a thriving cultural scene, diverse neighborhoods, and natural beauty is one of the world’s most spectacular playgrounds and is an excellent destination city. Located 12 miles east of the “foothills,” Denver is situated at the base of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, a series of gentle mountains that climb to 11,000 feet. Since its Wild West beginnings, Denver has evolved into a young, active city - stunning architecture, award-winning dining, and unparalleled views year-round. The conference will be held in downtown Denver - the heart of the city - steps away from the 16th Street Mall, Larimer Square, and the renovated Denver Union Station in historic Lower Downtown (LoDo), where Victorian buildings now house restaurants, galleries, shops, bars, brewpubs, and coffee houses.
EEGS and the SAGEEP organizing committee have planned an in-person meeting; however, they will continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and will evaluate and execute options to ensure a safe, productive, and inclusive conference for all attendees and exhibitors.
