SAGEEP 2025/Munitions Response Meeting Abstracts/Sessions

The Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS) and The National Association of Ordnance Contractors (NAOC) are collaborating to host the 37th Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP) and the 3rd Munitions Response Meeting (MRM), April 13-17, 2025, the “must attend” meeting of spring 2025 - participants will pay one conference fee and attend both meetings’ sessions and poster presentations.  This international conference is where practitioners, academics, consultants, students, and government representatives gather to hear presentations or view posters representing the latest in new approaches and methods in environmental and engineering geophysics and munitions detection technology and guidance and regulations related to explosives safety and quality procedures for munitions response.

Technical Program Schedule
Authors and Presenters can click here to view the current schedule of oral and poster presentations and search by last name to learn details about their presentations - either oral or poster.  Listed are room (SAGEEP 1, SAGEEP 2, MRM or Poster in the column named Poster Presentations), Session Name, Session Chair(s), day (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday) and the start/end times for the 20-minute oral presentation, including time for questions and answers. See the Poster Presentation information below for those who have requested a poster or who selected “let the chair” decide. If you have circumstances that require a request to change your designated day/time or session, or if you have received a Letter of Acceptance but do not see your talk or poster title listed, please contact the SAGEEP/MRM Technical Committee by sending an email to [email protected].

Oral Presentation Requirements
Oral presentations should be PowerPoint files (or a PDF of slides), delivered in 15 minutes with 5 minutes for questions for a total of no more than 20 minutes. You do not need to follow a template for the PowerPoint presentation. You are asked to load your PowerPoint files on a USB drive, which you will transfer to the computer in your session room prior to the beginning of the session. Your Session Chair(s) will be present to assist.

Poster Presentation Information
Posters form a significant and important part of the Technical Program and we are excited to provide a poster presentation format designed to give posters maximum visibility and impact! This year, we are offering poster viewing time each day in the Exhibit Hall, so please plan to be present at coffee breaks and during lunch on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We are also excited to feature additional time to view posters and speak to authors/presenters at the Wrap-up Reception on Wednesday, April 16 from 3:10 to 4:00 p.m.

The poster boards are 4 feet high and 8 feet long (actual space for posters). Presenters can either use Velcro tape or thumb tacks to affix posters to the board. The poster boards will be available in the Exhibit Hall or just outside the hall along the corridor.

The Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS) is an applied scientific organization founded in 1992. With the mission to promote the science of geophysics especially as it is applied to environmental and engineering problems; to foster common scientific interests of geophysicists and their colleagues in other related sciences and engineering; to maintain a high professional standing among its members; and to promote fellowship and cooperation among persons interested in the science.

The National Association of Ordnance Contractors (NAOC) was established in 1995 as an industry trade association representing over 80 companies who perform munitions response services, both in the United States and internationally. NAOC’s membership collectively provides the full spectrum of munitions response services, including munitions detection, management, and disposition; site characterization and remediation; geophysical surveying and data analysis; environmental sampling and analysis; regulatory support; research and development; and related environmental/ engineering services.
